A Brief Abstract — The Umbrella Academy Origins

It started in the mid-20th century, where 43 infants were mysteriously from women who show no signs of pregnancy (even virgins). These 43 children were blessed (or cursed) with unique superpower abilities. Sir Reginald Hargreeves, aka the Monacle, literally ‘ buys’ 7 of these children from their confused mothers and forms The Umbrella Academy with the intent of putting a stop to an unclear threat to mankind’s existence. He calls them by numbers 1 to 7 and very much like a Professor in X-men, helps them to harness their super abilities but reveals little about himself or his plans, leaving the children to figure things out with the audience as the plot unfolds.
